He has been licensed professional Counselor (LPC) since 2015. Derick Chi Kumba, MA, LPCC Shelter-Based Mental Health Practitionerĭerick grew up in Cameroon, West Africa. As a white cis-gender therapist, Melissa recognizes it is crucial to the therapeutic experience that she works to create a safe space for people of all cultural identities, gender identities, and sexualities.

Melissa finds value in how communal, cultural, and familial factors shape who we are and how these pieces can also help support us in healing. Melissa provides a gentle, strength-based, and relational approach to her work with clients. Melissa has additional experience working with parents and with children ages 0-4 and incorporates an attachment-based lens, believing that our early relationships can lay the foundation for how we experience ourselves and others. Melissa has previous experience providing in-home and outpatient therapy to individuals, couples and families. Melissa joined Face to Face as an Intensive Systemic Therapist in January 2019. Melissa Albaugh, MA Mental Health Practitioner Her areas of interest include family work, cultural issues, trauma, depression and anxiety. Dorothee uses a trauma-informed approach to empower her clients and works collaboratively within the community to build healthy therapeutic relationships. She also has previous experience working with survivors of trauma. Dorothee previously worked with an agency in the metro doing in-home Children’s Therapeutic Services and Support. Dorothee Tshiela, MA, LPCC Mental Health Supervisorĭorothee joined the Face to Face Outpatient Therapy program in November 2014. He prioritizes equity, inclusion, and social justice, and tries to incorporate these themes in his work as a therapist and supervisor.

His experience includes depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and trauma. He is experienced working with young people that come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. His therapeutic approach is strengths-based, with a client-centered approach. His professional experience includes working as a therapist in Early Childhood and Adolescent Day Treatment Programs, as a school based mental health therapist in the Robbinsdale and Osseo school districts, and since 2013 as a Mental Health Supervisor. The majority of his professional career has been spent working with children that are experiencing emotional and behavioral concerns related to their mental health. He has 20 years of professional experience working in the social service field, with 15 of those years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Michael is the supervisor for Face to Face’s Children’s Mental Health Case Management team, the ITS program, and MSW interns.
